In 2001, Benedict Schwartz, a Christian businessman from Maryland, was given the call to begin creating orphan villages in Africa. God moved mightily, and after organizing a team from his church, the Children of Zion Village was built in Namibia. There are now 55 children there who are being raised in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

In 2004, Benedict was led to organize All Kids Can Learn International, Inc. (AKCLI), to spread the vision that churches and businesses can sponsor children's villages; and collectively can rescue millions of orphans around the world.

AKCLI is a founding member of the Voice of the Orphans Coalition. The coalition was organized in 2006 by Family Life Ministries, Focus on the Family and Shaohannah's Hope.

All Kids Can Learn International, Inc. is a 501(c) 3, not-for-profit corporation, formed by Christian business people who are called by God to impact the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. In 2002, our church built and staffed a children's village in Namibia, Africa. There are currently 55 AIDS orphans there. Over 60 members of our church (10% of the members) have gone there and served from two weeks to one year. An essential part of the work we are doing is to get church-members personally involved as intercessory teams for each child, and also to visit and work with the children, becoming their extended family in Christ.

In 2006 we purchased a 230-acre farm in Zambia, and are planning to build children's villages there for 200 children. Africare, with 28 years of experience in Zambia, is partnering with us to make the farm into a commercial agricultural training center. Training for teenage and young adult orphans began in November 2006. Orphans will be given their own plots of land, formed into commercial cooperatives, and taught the entrepreneurial skills needed to earn a living through farming. Without real work and actual income, training is fruitless in an economy with 80% unemployment. The youth receive daily Bible instruction as part of their education.

All Kids Can Learn International, Inc. has a Zambian board of directors responsible for fashioning the program there to make sure that it is appropriate and effective for raising African disciples of Jesus Christ, in a Zambian context. We are looking for U.S. churches to come along side of our partnering African churches to help sponsor these children's villages. We have several thousand additional acres of land available to us throughout Zambia. We will be glad to speak with you or anyone at your church about the opportunities for effective partnering, to raise these kids as disciples of Jesus Christ.
